Oracle to Purchase BEA with $8.5 Billion

Wednesday, Oracle announced that it will acquire the middleware maker at a cost of nearly $19.38 per share. Oracle plans to incorporate BEA’s technology to enhance its newly developed Fusion Middleware.

Oracle founder and CEO, Larry Ellisons, says
“BEA has been a pioneer in middleware.”Alfred [Chuang, BEA CEO] is credited with a lot of those successes.”
