U.S. Open and 2008 Olympics Leave Pros with No Rest

The 2008 Olympics will begin next month on 8/8/08. This date was chosen because it is lucky according to the Chinese astrological calendar. For professional tennis players, they don’t get a break between tennis season and the Olympics.
In fact, the two occur at the same time. The U.S. Open is played over Labor Day weekend at the end of August through the beginning of September. Since the Olympics start on the 8th, there is no break. And many people have trouble keeping up with tennis while the Olympics are being held.
U.S. Open tennis news coverage will be on the Tennis Channel and I’m sure there will be a lot of talk about the Beijing Olympics since these players will go from one to the other.
