In Singapore one of the most popular places for dining are the numerous hawker centers that are found around the city. Within these stalls you will find authentic Chinese, Indian, and Malay, dishes. Do not be worried as these stalls are very hygienic and serve top quality food at exceptional prices.
The hawkers in their stalls will have on display a variety of their food specialties. This will make it easier for you to choose especially if you are unfamiliar with the dishes. at their stall through photographs or actual dishes.
Most tables in hawker centers in Singapore will have numbers assigned to them. When you order from the stalls give them your table number and the food will be delivered to you once is has been cooked. If the hawker stall states that it is self-service then it will be up to you to deliver your food to your table. If the place is busy it is customary to share tables with strangers.
Hawker dining in Singapore is very popular especially with locals. The food is affordable and very delicious. Many are close to tourist areas and the best Singapore hotels. You will find hawker centers all around Singapore and in the suburbs of the city.
