Over the last decade the city of Dubai has developed a reputation as an ideal vacation destination. With its warm desert climate and miles of fabulous beaches, the city always had a lot to offer. In recent years the government has worked hand-in-hand with developers to create resorts, sports venues, and other attractions that have put Dubai on the map as the center for both business and leisure travel in the Middle East.

Dubai is the population center of the United Arab Emirates. Thanks to government created “Free Zones” it has also become the center for trade in the Middle East, offering import and export companies a virtually tax-free environment. Real estate development has also contributed to the rise of the city’s popularity. The number of luxury hotels in Dubai UAE has skyrocketed in the last decade, as have the number of resorts, restaurants, retail shops, and entertainment venues.

No trip to Dubai would be complete without spending time on the beach. The sparkling waters of the Persian Gulf provide ample opportunities for swimming, sailing, surfing, and sunbathing. Snorkelling and scuba diving are also popular pastimes and boat, seaplane, and even hot air balloon tours are available to explore the coastline. The largest man-made islands in the world are here as well. The Palm islands multiplied the available beachfront and leisure real estate and are one of the star attractions of the city. Other artificial islands are in development to further increase the available recreational real estate.

The city is also working to become a major cultural and sports destination. The Dubai International Film Festival and the Dubai International Jazz Festival are popular winter events. The city also hosts a literature festival and a rock festival. International athletes are also coming to Dubai to compete in championships in tennis, golf and thoroughbred horse racing.

Visitors seeking a historic vacation will find many museums and heritage sites to explore in Dubai. Families can visit the water park or any of the family entertainment and amusement centers. Couples will find plenty of romantic venues that take advantage of the city’s breath-taking scenery. Adventurers can try dune bashing or deep sea fishing. Dubai pretty much has something for everyone.
