Honeymoon in Lanai

Posted on June 1, 2009 - Filed Under Travel

What could be more romantic than taking a honeymoon in Hawaii? As one of the best island hideaways, Lanai’s beautifully unpopulated beaches and remote shorelines make this destination one of the best for lovers. With nothing commercial to distract you, a Lanai vacation means a visit to old Hawaii. Here traffic goes slowly, with only 30 miles of paved roads and plenty of trails for exploring by jeep or foot. With very little rainfall, Lanai’s weather is heavenly and the clear waters attest to a kind of purity in the air that is magic.

Take your honeymoon vacation to Hawaii during the first weekend in July to enjoy the Pineapple Festival where the succulent fruit is celebrated while some of the best musicians around serenade the island. Travel during the spring and fall, and you will get the best deals as this time of year is low season.

Whenever you go, Lanai will reward you with romantic days and nights to explore the island in peace and quiet far from the madding crowd found on some of the other Hawaiian islands. Pack something to put over your shoulders for the balmy nights and casual clothes for the warm days.

For those of you who wish to get married on Lanai, simply present a marriage license application, a photo ID, and $60 in cash to a licenced marriage authority and you can tie the knot on one of the most romantic islands in the world.
