Singapore has a growing reputation for being a strong tourist destination. It offers unique cultural landmarks and heritage relevant art forms, as well as great cuisine from around the world and plenty of standard recreational options. The Singapore Zoo is just one of the amazing and fun options that attracts families of tourists throughout out year. Guests staying at a Singapore spa hotel will have access to information on the zoo and other major attractions right at the front desk or hotel lobby.

The Zoo was officially opened in June of 1973 and is situated on 28 hectares of land. It is set in a sort of rainforest geographic orientation, which contributes to a natural appeal. The animals live in open, spacious environments that imitate their natural habits as closely as possible. The zoo also incorporates an open concept, which is intended to provide a sort of hands on or more intimate experience with the animals, as well as to incorporate an educational theme. It features approximately 315 species of animals, and of that number sixteen percent of them are endangered.

The endangered population of the zoo is also representative of the conservational aspect and intention of it. Research and preservation are an essential component of this contemporary establishment that is concerned as much for the animals’ welfare as it is for the education and entertainment of its patrons. The Zoo has recently opened a new section that is specifically structured for children. It is called Rainforest Kidzworld and provides and almost theme park like experience for the children. It is intended to provide a fun educational experience while also developing a strong sense of environmental ethics in the young generation. There is a large water park in this section where children can enjoy swimming, water rides and various other activities. More hotel information here
