State Fair is Major Event in Most States

Cities all across the nation have many annual activities and events that celebrate their particular history and unique vision and national pride. Along with this, the states themselves will hold annual fairs that draw attendees from across the land to experience the food, games, rides and entertainment events that are included. State Fairs have along tradition in this country and many families and individuals consider it an almost mandatory group experience each year. Event tickets are generally affordable and can be purchases upon arrival at the fair.
The California State Fair takes place in its capital city of Sacramento every summer. It is found at the Cal State Expo, which is also the home to other major festivals and events. David Cook will be performing at this year’s fair and he will take the stage on August 21. This American Idol winner will open the fair’s concert series. The rock band Tonic will also be performing as well as MC hammer and others. The fair will also include plenty of rides and games and of course a great selection of food and snack options. Some of the exhibitions that will be featured in the exhibit hall include a Youth Art & Design collection. Paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography, video and more will be displayed. California Creative Arts will be another exhibit that focuses on the fine art of California residents.
The Texas State Fair, also known as Big Tex will take place from September 25 through October 18 of this year. The main stage concert series will feature performances by 38 Special, En Vogue and Miranda Lambert. The live stock exhibits are extremely popular and important in the Big Tex fair and so are the food options. The food vendors take part in a taste competition that includes categories in most creative options and best taste. There are also interesting exhibits on landscaping and gardening, in addition to all of the thrilling elements that are standard to state fairs.
