A Perspective on Customer Service

Posted on September 14, 2009 - Filed Under Finance, Industry

Prior to making the purchase of a major appliance, piece of furniture or other significant household items, many people experience some form of anxiety and indecision. This can be extremely compounded when that purchase is being made online. It is more difficult to feel confident in a product or even trust what is actually being bought when you can’t see it and possibly test it in person. It is also difficult to offer up credit card, Pay Pal or other online payment forms to an invisible seller, and Steve Barbarich recognizes this. He is also greatly aware of the possible pit falls of online purchases that carry a very real risk of little or no customer support.

A few years ago Steve Barbarich made an online purchase. He went into the transaction with the same concerns as most people, and regrettably some of these were realized. He was not informed of the exact size of the spa her purchased and when it arrived it was too large to fit through the door of his house. Barbarich immediately called for assistance from the customer service support number but his questions were answered with brief and generalized responses. He received no support or answer to his concerns and was left with a giant acrylic and porcelain mass resting in his front yard. This was extremely disconcerting to him as he had just given that company a sizeable chunk of his money.

The experience effected Barbarich to such an extent that he decided to start his own company and he was determined to make customer satisfaction his priority. He decided he would also do everything he could to put at ease his Internet customers who may be experiencing purchase anxiety, or have some of the same legitimate concerns and fears that he had. This is particularly important in today’s world and economy where it is extremely important for consumers to get what they think they are paying for. This is exactly what they can count on when doing business with Barbarich.
