We specialize in offering the best of luxury accommodations, and our Jaipur hotels are a splendid blend of the old and new worlds, combining innovation with tradition. In this way, you’ll get the best of classical hospitality and style, mixed with the latest in technology and comfort. Jaipur is a fascinating city, with a rich history and a remarkable sense of mystery. It is one of the most well-planned cities in the world, built according to a grid based on a circular cosmically-connectable structure known as a mandala. It is designed to provide a link between worlds, offering the citizens access to comfort as well as prosperity. This is in the atmosphere here, and its elusive but almost tangible quality will lay the groundwork for new and lovely adventures for visitors of all ages.
We would certainly recommend easing into the city with a delicious night’s sleep in our rooms that are extremely lush and contemporary in design, and will make you feel like royalty. Before or after rest, please enjoy a sumptuous meal prepared by our top chefs, well-schooled in the latest in world cooking techniques, as well as having a solid knowledge of classical cuisines. This mix in tastes is a sublime experience, and may help prepare you for some of the excellent attractions that Jaipur offers. Although they don’t visit their home as much as we’d like, the Jaipur Kawa Brass Band is a terrific example of how local culture mixes with global culture to make a lively and fascinating fusion.
Headed by Hammed Khan, who hails from Jaipur, this music is a terribly interesting and infectious blend of different world beats and sounds. He says that the brass music they play has origins in India’s colonial past, when the British brought their brass music here in the middle of the eighteenth century. The music of the Jaipur Kawa Brass Band will no doubt be more familiar to Bollywood fans, owing more to Indian pop culture than to the British occupation. But there are also certain strong Gypsy rhythms coming through here, giving the music a very local pulse. They are extremely popular wherever they play, but have particularly vivid responses when they play in places with a large Indian diasporic community. Visitor to Jaipur may come across references to the band, and may be lucky enough to hear them playing locally.
