TriBeCa New York

Posted on September 3, 2009 - Filed Under Travel

Triangle Below Canal Street, Tribeca, New York. I was told if I look on a map I will see that it is exactly a triangle below canal street. I was planning a walk around the area, maybe hoping to run into Robert De Niro, or some other film celebrity, or just hoping to find something interesting. I was staying in one of the small hotels New York has plenty of; attending a small business conference. But, I had a whole day to kill, so I checked out Tribeca. The name, for some reason, always interested me.

I noticed that Tribeca has many parks, which is perfect and quite nice with how scattered they are, so when I got tired, I just took a break in one of the parks. The New York City parks department does a great job of maintaining the park system, from the largest to even the smallest park, I wished I had brought a picnic basket to so I could have my lunch in one of the beautiful parks, but instead I had lunch at a restaurant, but it was a fantastic lunch. No sightings of De Niro yet. I saw a variety of brownstones, historic building, like the Little Singer Building and the New York City Fire Museum, the iron buildings the New York is famous for. I did more shopping than what I planned for, but there was some very interesting shops in Tribeca.

I headed over to the West Side Highway, after lunch and shopping, to get a view of the Hudson River. The breeze was refreshing and I was fortunate that I got to see an ocean liner come into port. I wonder if Robert De Niro is looking at the ocean liner coming into port just like I am?
