Upgrades and Bump Ups in Chennai
Posted on November 2, 2009 - Filed Under Travel
I arrived safely in Chennai, but it took me almost 3 hours to get through the Chennai airport. Oh, I almost forgot, I got bumped up when I was in Heathrow to a section were there were only 6 rows. The section even had designer handwash and lotion in the loo. My seat fully reclined and it has a foot rest. I was never more happy, especially because it was a 10 hour flight. I was so comfortable. Later, someone informed me that I was bumped to first class. What an experience, too bad that service isn’t available for every single passenger.
My accomodations were better than I expect also! Plus, I got bumped up there too! I had booked the lest expensive room at one of the luxury hotels Chennai has to offer, and I got bumped up to a suite. I had a sofa, and a little service bar. My view on the balcony was fantastic. I could see all of downtown Chennai. After I got all settled in and took a nap to ease the jet lag. I headed out to the streets. I did have one obligation to visit this place where one of my friends were volunteering. It was a guesthouse not too far from where I was staying. When I arrived there, I asked around for my friend, but she was nowhere to be found. Then this girl told me to join her in yoga at the beach, I told her I wasn’t prepared to go to the beach, she threw me a some loose fitting clothes and told me to follow her. It was absolutely amazing, doing yoga at the beach. Then I received a massage from this guy who was her yoga teacher!
I haven’t had much to eat by this time, so I returned to the guesthouse to change clothes and there was my friend. It was so good to see her. She offered to take me to a nearby restaurant and bought me a nice tandoori dish, which was delicious. What a trip so far! Everything is in flow for me, bump ups, yoga, massages, and food! I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings.
