Annapolis Nights
Posted on February 26, 2010 - Filed Under Travel
The Annapolis hotel like these are really comfortable and filled with most everything you might need but there are only so many TV shows to watch. It would be best to get out and enjoy the city of Annapolis some while you are here. There are a number of nice places to eat around town so maybe you would like to find a nice restaurant or lounge to enjoy some food and wine. Then there is always a walk along the City Dock. It is always pleasant to here the water surf hitting the dock and the sail chords hitting the masses in the distance. The area is so old and has so much history maybe there is even ghosts to see. Or maybe the thing to do is to catch a some sort of live performance in one of the local venues.
The Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts may have something you could catch. Between February and March 2010 they are having the Bridges to the World International Film Series. There is bonus to this event, it is free. Free screenings of independent films from countries like Russia, Korea, Argentina, Estonia and even Nigeria. You may want to go a bit early because it is open seating with out tickets. If you don’t mind English subtitles you could be in for a real treat. They offer wonderful dance performances as well such as an adaptation of Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. This is a great one to take your kids to.
If you like the Symphony you may want to see if the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra is play. It looks like in the spirit of Valentine’s Day they are doing a Classic series of Sexy Sounds. Jose-Luis Novo is the music director. There is also the Ballet Theater of Maryland, the Annapolis Chorale and the Annapolis Opera ready to entertain you.
