Every Christmas someone in your neighborhood will mount an elaborate or even outlandish outdoor display of holiday cheer. This will likely include figurines, inflatable items, and lots and lots of lights. If you’ve ever considered creating your own display but were worried about the energy drain created, you may want to look into purchasing led christmas lights .

LED lights are much more energy efficient than traditional lights and can last up to ten times as long as incandescent bulbs. Since they are also weather resistance and very difficult to break, you can invest in them knowing you’ll be able to use them year after year and still save money on your electricity bill.

The best part is that LED lights are available in just about every form you could need to design a magnificent outdoor holiday display. You can get them in single colors such as red or white or purchase multi-color strings and nets. Wreathes and net lights are also available to make decorating that much easier. Even better, there are plenty of replacement bulbs available, just in case.

So don’t let your concern for the environment interfere with your desire to express your holiday spirit . There’s no reason not to create your own small and tasteful Christmas display — unless you prefer to go big and bold.

After a dismal 2009, the retail industry is looking forward to a successful 2010 Halloween season. It’s estimated that Americans will spend a total of $5.8 billion on costumes, candy, and decorations this month.

Last year, Halloween spending fell nearly $10 per person, with the average individual spending only $56.31, according to the National Research Federation. In 2010, their research indicates that the average person will spend $66.28 on Halloween costumes , decorations and candy. Decorations would include everything from jack-o-lanterns to elaborate outdoor displays and costumes could be anything from a simple mask and wig to a full-blown costume rented from a store or made by hand.

Costumes are expected to very well. In 2009 only 33.4% of Americans dressed up, but 2010 should see 40.1% in costume. This year also look for 11.5% to dress up their pets as well as themselves and their children. Costumes account for $23.37 of the total spending, followed by $20.29 on candy, $18.66 for decorations and even $3.95 for greeting cards. An estimated 148 million Americans are expected to embrace Halloween by spending money on some aspect of the holiday.

The 2010 figure is comparable to the $66.54 spent in 2008.

Most people have associations to men that are kind of rugged, tough and possibly even conservative. Dressing up in costumes is not one of the immediate associations most people will make. However, if you think about it, even the Marlboro man, the American icon of masculinity, was actually a model in a costume. At the very literal level, sports team uniforms are actually costumes. And costumes are part of many social events and even career choices, which is part of the reason you will find plenty of options in plus size mens costumes. However, one of the other and extremely common reasons men wear costumes is for the simple fact it is fun. And just like everyone else, they will be eager to take advantage of the opportunity whenever the social occasion allows.

Halloween is one of the standard holidays for which you will find almost everyone dressed in elaborate and detailed costumes. However, if you have ever been to a Renaissance fair you have seen plenty of actors in period costumes, as well as numerous patrons who consider costumes an essential aspect of participation. Rodeo clowns, Santa Claus and Uncle Sam are characters that are typically associated with men and definitely require the use of costumes.

Men’s and women’s theme costumes are increasing in popularity and common use. And their uses go far beyond the once a year Halloween party. Couples frequently purchase or create thematic costumes for all sorts of social events and celebrations. Men in costumes is a lot more common than what most people realize, though if you think about it, it’s an extremely attractive social element.

I love Halloween! Not only because it is Halloween and all the festivities associated with it but also because it is my birthday. Every year I love to try do something fun and different for my birthday. Over the years I have had picnics in grave yards with my friends, attended parties held in abandoned houses, gone to fire circles in the woods and once was at a party in an Arizona ghost town on the side of a mountain. It has always been a good time and a lot of fun for me and everyone else that comes along. So this year I was wondering what to do and I remembered my mom visiting Savannah earlier this year and taking a haunted tour while there and enjoying it a lot. so, this year I’ve decided to take my party on the road. We are going to go to Savannah, GA and going on the Haunted Pub Crawl. I have heard it is a lot of fun, full of interesting info and scary. There is a group of us going, looks right now to be seven. We have our luxury hotels Georiga rooms booked and our spots in the pub crawl reserved so we are all set to go.

There are a lot of different tours of historic Savannah, GA available for the visitor day and night. There are also a lot of haunted tours of the city, form what I have been able to find out the Haunted Pub Crawl seems to be one of the favorite haunted tours.

With Halloween on a Saturday this year it’s going to be great. We will be arriving in Savannah on Thursday and staying through to Monday morning. We will be able to get in two nights of pre party before my birthday / Halloween. Then the big night of Haunted Pub Crawling and major parting! Sunday will be a day of recovery and travel home Monday. Getting Monday off was real lucky and made this all nice and casual traveling s opposed to having to turn around on Sunday and head back home.
